Ahoy, Matey! This weekend I was invited to take a ride on the Bluefoot Pirate ship! I have been on many boats before but this adventurous pirate ship was one of a kind. How cool is this pirate ship!
When I called to book our reservation I asked about the suggested age for this attraction. I was told ages 2-10 is the ideal ages. After being on the boat and experiencing this attraction I would say that is a pretty accurate age range. I brought my daughter who is seven years old and my niece who is six years old. They both really got into the activities and they really enjoyed themselves!
When you arrive at the dock they will check you in. You can buy a pirate accessories package for $7.95, this includes a bandana, eye patch and a sword. This is honestly a really good price. I checked a few local stores before we went on the boat and nothing compared. After you are checked in the kids will get their faces painted. What kid doesn’t love to get their face painted! Face painting was included in the ticket prices.
After face painting it was time to hop on the boat! After a short safety lessons we were off into the deep blue sea to search for treasure, well the intercostal really but this trip was all about using your imagination. The captain kept the parents entertained in the back of the boat with facts on the mega yachts we were passing and the amazing mansions we saw along the way! We even got to see one of my favorite things, a cruise ship!
After the children raised the flag and learned some pirate knowledge from our lady pirate they got to test out the water cannons. The kids were so excited to shot the mega water guns a.k.a. the cannons! Yes they shot real water and lots of it so beware, you will get wet if you are sitting in the middle of the ship while the kids are playing with the cannons.
While they are on the ship the kids learn all kinds of pirate knowledge. They learn the map and how “X” marks the spot. For being good little pirate they get to open the treasure chest and get some pirate booty! There is one slight problem, the Key is missing! As the kids are figuring out what could have happened to the key a naughty pirate shows up with the missing key and a battle ensues. The deal is if the Kids win the naughty pirate has to give the key back, if the kids lose the ship has to trade a passenger. Wouldn’t you know that passenger that was volunteered to be traded off was ME!
If you are standing in the middle of the boat with your child during this battle prepare to get soaked. Between the cannons and the Super Soaker the naughty pirate had we were a bit wet afterwards.
We WON the Battle! Only problem was the Naughty pirate dropped the key into the water. After a very animated show by the crew the kids and the crew came up with an idea and they got the key back! The treasure chest was finally able to be opened!
One of the most important parts of any kids attraction is the staff and crew. I must say this crew was so into playing the rolls. It really made the trip that much more special and fun for the kids! From the pirate voices to the costumes and the pirate phrases, this crew was on top of their pirate game!
The booking process was pretty easy, you call ahead to make your reservation. I highly suggest calling ahead and not just showing up. Our boat was pretty full with reservations. Check times & Tickets prices Here!
They also Run a BOGO deal on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday! Buy one Ticket and get 50% off the 2nd Ticket!
